ROOM PARENTS NEEDED!

This meeting will be via Zoom and is for Norris PTA Room Parents. If you are a current room parent, or are interested in becoming one, you are invited to attend!

Being a room parent is a great way to get directly involved in your child’s class. Room parents are the liaison between teachers and parents and help plan fun events such as class parties and coordinate teacher’s birthday celebrations. Below please find some details on the responsibilities of a room parent:

• Class Roster - Help create and distribute class roster. Room parents initially ask for the teacher’s help with sending contact info request forms to the parents.
• Teacher’s Birthday - Notify parents about the teacher's upcoming birthday with a favorites list about one week prior to the event. Celebrate on a date chosen by the teacher.
• Class Parties - There are usually 3 class parties in a year: The winter party (on the last day before winter break), Valentine’s Day party, and end of the year party (on the last day of school). Room parents help to plan the parties, purchase party goods, and host the parties including asking for volunteers if needed. We are still awaiting details on how parties will be handled this year.
• Help teachers with projects/volunteering needs as they arise.

We would like to have room parents for each class. Below, please find classes that still have no room parent assigned. If you would like to volunteer, please email Norris PTA at president@norrispta.org.
